The Level produces a world class Enterprise Web Content Management System that is scalable, flexible and easy-to-use. Our software makes it easy for non-technical contributors to control the creation, localization and delivery of web content for each of an organization’s internal and external audiences.
The Level Enterprise Web CMS powers large content-centric websites, dashboard intranets and secure extranet applications, and offers advanced content localization features for tailoring content to audiences worldwide. Clients include some of the top web properties in the world, yet The Level’s software is also suitable for medium-sized businesses.
Company History
Founded in 2002, The Level began with the mission to create software for making it easy to manage content on the web. The Internet was already known as The Level Playing Field, where organizations of any size could compete on a global scale, but the first generation of tools for managing content on the web lacked utility and were cumbersome.

The Internet was already known as The Level Playing Field, where organizations of any size could compete on a global scale, but the first generation of tools for managing content on the web lacked utility and were cumbersome.
The Level was among the first to introduce a completely XML-based content management system. At that time, most web applications within an organization were managed separately and contained 'content silos' that meant the same content had to be managed in multiple places. Our CMS software made it possible for organizations to manage a single source of content and share it across each of their internal and external websites.
The Level's software has always featured granular control of content, allowing organizations to dynamically assemble personalized content for its web applications based on a visitor's profile, permissions and preferences. In more recent years, The Level has expanded to include advanced content localization so that organizations could efficiently tailor content to audiences in many countries and in many languages.
The Level is 100% privately owned and has been profitable since inception. The Company continues to grow rapidly and was named as on of BC’s hottest 25 private IT companies poised for significant growth in the Ready to Rocket 25 for 2008.
